Gallery Place

Gallery Place is one of the nation's most attractive and successful downtown retail destinations. Connected to the Verizon Center (home of the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals), and just above the Gallery Place Metro-rail Station, Gallery Place is a true mixed-use development, consisting of 250,000 square feet of festive retail/entertainment shops and venues, including a 14 screen movie theater, that enlivens the street frontage 18 hours daily; 192 luxury condominiums; 250,000 square feet of office; and 690 parking spaces.

 

Conceived in 1997, Gallery Place was a direct catalyst for an array of East End development activity. It is often referred to as DC’s version of Times Square, with its high level of pedestrian traffic both day and night, especially during events at the Verizon Center.
